1. Who we are
Furnished Escape operates a booking platform for furnished short- and medium-term rentals at furnishedescape.com. For bookings on homes we manage directly, we act as the host. For bookings on third-party listings, we act as an intermediary marketplace and are not party to the rental agreement between guest and host.
By using the site or making a booking, you agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be 18 or older to make a booking. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account or booking a stay. We verify identity through Stripe Identity on the first booking. Accounts are personal to you and may not be transferred.
3. Bookings & payment
All prices shown are in U.S. dollars and include taxes and fees unless otherwise noted. Payment is captured at the time of booking via Stripe. Your card is charged the full amount when the booking confirms; we do not store card numbers ourselves.
For stays on third-party listings, funds are held in escrow and transferred to the host 24 hours after check-in, subject to the cancellation and damage-protection policies described below.
4. Cancellations & refunds
Cancellation terms depend on the rate plan selected at checkout (Flex or Economy). The policy applicable to your stay is the one displayed at the time of booking and is described in full on our Cancellation Policy. Refunds are issued automatically to the original payment method within 24 hours of an eligible cancellation.
5. Host responsibilities
Third-party hosts are independent operators and are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, legal compliance with their local jurisdiction (including short-term rental permits, tax collection, and insurance), and the safety of their premises. While we review every listing before publication, we do not inspect every property in person and make no representation beyond the information each host has provided.
6. Guest conduct
Guests agree to respect the home, abide by house rules, and not exceed the booked occupancy. Parties, unauthorized events, smoking in non-smoking homes, and damage beyond ordinary wear are grounds for fees up to and including the full replacement cost, charged to the card on file.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Furnished Escape's total liability arising out of any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost enjoyment, lost wages, or alternative-accommodation cost, except where required by law.
8. Dispute resolution
Disputes are first addressed through our internal resolution process — email hello@furnishedescape.com and we'll respond within one business day. Any claim not resolved that way is subject to binding arbitration, with a narrow carve-out for small-claims matters and injunctive relief.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that constitutes acceptance.
